Inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee! (My sequin cape!)

Who else is loving the Great British Sewing Bee!? It's such a refreshing change from cookery shows and survival programmes!

I've been wanting to make a cape for a while now, but having seen them on the #GBSB I've decided it's time to get making it!

Having never made a circle skirt before, I looked online for how to cut one out, but made it the right length for a cape. Folding the fabric saves you cutting out a whole circle, and makes it much more even.

It was so super easy to cut out (No pattern required!) that I now want to make lots of circle skirts!

I purchased my fabric from HobbyCraft, as they had a really good selection of thin cottons, which will have the flowy-ness I need to make my cape! cutting out my sequin cape sequins for my cape

I purchased huge sequins from Ebay, they are 24mm round, with one hole at the top for stitching. I've got gold, silver and a pale metallic pink! I'm hoping to cover my entire cape with sequins (If I have enough!), which although will be a long process, will hopefully look amazing for our Summer Party!

Fingers crossed I finish it in time! xxx
